was kann ich für Dich tun?

 

- Ich habe gleich einen wichtigen Call, 

kann ich euer WLAN benutzen?

 

Selbstverständlich.

 

Ich sehe mich im Pub nach einer ruhigen Ecke um. 

Der Wirt sieht meinen Blick.

 

Wir haben ein Hinterzimmer, sagt er.

Oh, wirklich? Ich schaue nur noch schnell,

wo ich mein Rad anschließen kann, sage ich. 

 

Wir haben auch einen Hinterhof, sagt er. 

 

Er öffnet mir das rote Holztor, 

ich bringe mein Rad hinein. 

Er führt mich in das Hinterzimmer, 

rückt mir den Stuhl zurecht

und nimmt meine Bestellung auf. 

 

Ich nehme 

ein Greek Sharing Board

ohne die Absicht, es mit irgendwem zu teilen

und denke mir

wie großartig und hilfsbereit 

können Menschen eigentlich sein.

Of course you can.

I look around the pub for a quiet corner.
The barkeeper sees my glance.
 
We have a back room, he says.

Oh, really? I just have a quick look,
where I can plug my bike in, I say.
 
We have a backyard too, he says.
 
He opens the red wooden gate for me,
I bring my bike inside.
He leads me into the back room,
pulls out a chair for me
and takes my order.
 
I take
a Greek Sharing Board
without the intention of sharing it with anyone
and think to myself
how great and helpful
can people actually be.
