Day 5: Bristol - Warminster

Heute: 65km von Bristol nach Warminster. 

Die ersten 30km hatte ich Begleitung von Kai 

- Abschlussgespräch auf dem Fahrrad. 

 

Ein Stopp bei Maria in Bath, 

Kaffee und Kekse zur Stärkung,

ein Eintrag ins Gästebuch und ein Engel für den Weg, 

dann weiter, die Mittagshitze kommt.

 

Schön: Flache Schotterwege an Kanälen entlang

Nicht so schön: Steigung an vielbefahrener Straße. 

 

Woran merkt man, dass der Berg steil ist?

Man denkt: Jetzt schalte ich aber mal einen Gang runter 

und merkt, man ist schon im niedrigsten Gang

und dann piept das Navi und sagt: 

"Fahrt angehalten",

obwohl man doch 

in leichten Schlangenlinien 

den Berg hochstrampelt.  

Irgendwann endlich:

Warminster und 

ein schönes Pub Erlebnis.

- Reflection about the year on the bike.
 
A stop at Maria's in Bath,
coffee and biscuits for refreshment,
an entry in the guest book and an angel for the road,
then on, the midday heat is coming.
 
Nice: Flat gravel paths along canals.
Not so nice: Uphill on a busy road.

 

How can you tell that the hill is steep?
You think: Oh, I better shift down a gear and realise 

you're already in the lowest gear.
and then the sat nav beeps and says:
"Driving stopped",
even though you're fighting your way
in slight serpentines
up the hill.  
 

Then finally:
Warminster and
a nice pub experience.
